Chadwick Boseman’s widow says she has paid more than $1.7 million to the late actor’s parents while opposing an attempt by his brothers to remove her as administrator of his estate.
Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman made the claims in newly filed court documents, responding to Derrick and Kevin Boseman’s concerns about her management of the estate and its finances.
She said she had paid $1.5 million to Chadwick’s parents, Carolyn and Leroy Boseman, in May 2023, followed by a further $260,000 later that year and more than $4,000 in December 2024.
Simone also said she had voluntarily given $300,000 of her own money to Derrick Boseman’s children.
Derrick and Kevin have filed a petition seeking Simone’s removal as head of the estate. They claim they have concerns about her ability to run it and have questioned the transparency of its finances.
Simone has rejected those claims, arguing that she has been acting in accordance with Chadwick’s wishes.
Chadwick Boseman died in August 2020 from complications related to colon cancer, which he had privately battled for four years.
