Firefighters have stopped a garage fire from spreading through a home in northeast Cherokee County, Georgia, after crews were called to Hollyberry Way on Saturday evening.
First-arriving units found heavy flames in the garage near the junction with Hollybush Court, according to Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services.
Crews launched an immediate attack and brought the blaze under control before it reached the main living areas of the property. Their response also helped protect neighbouring homes.
Garage fire contained before reaching living areas
One homeowner suffered a minor injury and was assessed at the scene by emergency crews. No further injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although officials believe it was accidental.
Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services urged residents to check their smoke detectors regularly and replace their batteries every year.
