Authorities in Florida have renewed an appeal for information about the disappearance and death of Stevencia Barlatier, a pregnant woman who vanished from Orlando in 2017 and whose body was later found in rural Hernando County.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has classified the case as a homicide and is seeking new details about Barlatier’s movements, associates and contacts after she was last seen. The appeal was issued on 26 October 2026 under case number 2018-07683. ([hernandosheriff.org](https://www.hernandosheriff.org/news/2026-10-26-hcso-detectives-seeking-information-in-homicide/))
Pregnant woman disappeared after leaving Orlando supermarket
Barlatier, who was born on 29 November 1995, was last seen at about 3.30pm on 25 November 2017 at the Publix supermarket on East Colonial Drive in Orlando. She was later reported missing by relatives in Collier County.
She was pregnant with her partner’s child and was wearing a blue or green top, black leggings and a black hooded jacket. Investigators said she was carrying a pink patterned backpack and holding a blue garment, possibly a jumper, when she was last seen. Months later, her body was recovered on the eastern side of rural Hernando County, more than 50 miles from Orlando. The sheriff’s office has not publicly identified a suspect or disclosed the precise circumstances of her death.
Detectives are asking anyone who saw Barlatier, spoke to her or knows anything about her activities, travel or associates from 25 November 2017 onwards to come forward. Investigators said even information that appears insignificant could assist the homicide inquiry.
