Zak Bagans has bought a Las Vegas bunker for $4.5 million and plans to turn the unusual property into a museum open to the public.
The 16,000 sq ft estate, known as the “Underground Mansion”, includes painted skies, artificial landscaping, a swimming pool and lighting designed to imitate different times of day. Nearly three storeys beneath the ordinary-looking home is a luxury bunker built during the Cold War.
The Ghost Adventures star reportedly learned about the property’s dark history while viewing it, with some staff said to have refused to enter the bunker alone.
The site has also been used by MrBeast, who described it as “one of the most expensive and bizarre bunkers on the planet”. Imagine Dragons filmed the music video for “Monday” inside the bunker.
Bagans is also planning an original documentary feature about the property. He said: “Once I was actually in the process of buying it, I was shocked by how many different mysteries are tied to this house, things I don’t wanna reveal just yet.”
He added that he intends to preserve the house and its history so he can “dig deeper into the mysteries”.
Holly Erker of IS Luxury held the listing, while Rob Jensen of the Rob Jensen Company represented Bagans.
