Hasan Piker has claimed that the United States has committed more terrorism than Al-Qaeda “pound for pound”, pointing to an alleged bombing of an Iranian elementary school.
The left-wing streamer made the remarks during an appearance on The Axios Show, saying: “We have caused tremendous terror all around the world.”
Piker referred to the February bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school, which he said left about 120 children dead. “If you’re killing 140 schoolgirls, that is an act of terror,” he said.
He later clarified that he did not mean “that all Americans are terrorists”. Instead, he urged US citizens to “create an environment of accountability to ensure things like that never happen again”.
Piker previously faced criticism for saying in 2019 that the United States “deserved” the September 11 attacks. He later said he had “used imprecise language in 2019 and immediately apologised”.
The streamer also made an unexpected appearance at the Republican Party’s midterm convention last week, where an image of him in his underwear, with his crotch area blurred, was shown on a jumbotron during the Dallas event.
