Production has begun on Heated Rivalry season two, with Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie set to continue their roles as hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
The new series will follow the pair as they navigate a relationship that has been kept secret for a decade. Ilya wants them to make their romance public, while Shane fears it could put their professional careers at risk.
Several new actors have joined the cast in recent weeks, while many of the performers from the first season have confirmed they will return. The incoming characters are drawn from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series.
Heated Rivalry season two will primarily adapt The Long Game, the sixth book in the series. Creator Jacob Tierney has also confirmed that material from Role Model, the fifth novel, will feature in the new episodes.
Recent casting announcements also suggest that elements of Tough Guy, the third book, will be incorporated into the season.
The second season of the queer hockey drama is expected to premiere in April 2027.
