West Bend West’s meeting with Port Washington was selected as the FOX6 High School Blitz Game of the Week as Wisconsin’s 2026 high school football season reached Week 5.
The Glacier Trails Conference contest was scheduled for Friday, September 18, with kick-off at 7pm at Port Washington High School. It brought together two teams that had made strong starts to the campaign.
Port Washington entered the fixture with a 4-0 record after victories over Sheboygan North, Mount Horeb-Barneveld, Nicolet and Kewaskum. The Pirates had scored 150 points and conceded 49 across their opening four games.
West Bend West had won three successive matches after an opening defeat by Green Bay Preble. The Spartans followed that loss with wins over Milwaukee Academy of Science, Kewaskum and Kettle Moraine Lutheran, including a 41-21 victory in their previous outing.
The fixture was one of the early season tests for both sides in the newly established Glacier Trails Conference, which includes Port Washington and West Bend West among its member schools.
