Influencer Jack Doherty’s alleged domestic violence arrest followed a confrontation in which his girlfriend reportedly retrieved a firearm and warned she would shoot him, according to a Fort Lauderdale Police Department report.
The woman told officers she had lived with Doherty for six months before telling him she intended to end their relationship. She said the conversation escalated after Doherty allegedly threatened to “beat her ass”, adding that he was bigger than her and could do so.
According to the report, she went upstairs, picked up a firearm from a table and held it by her side while telling Doherty to leave her alone. She said she warned him she would shoot if he came near her because she was afraid.
The woman also told police that she had hit and scratched Doherty during the altercation, but said she had acted in self-defence.
Doherty gave officers a different account, reportedly telling them that his girlfriend was the person who had struck him and that he had not touched her.
Police said Doherty was initially hesitant but showed them security footage from the property. The report said the video captured a verbal argument and showed the woman using her arm to strike and push Doherty away in an attempt to create distance.
Officers noted that Doherty had a visible injury to his face. He was nevertheless taken into custody and transported to jail.
Doherty was arrested in September over alleged domestic violence. The claims described in the report remain allegations.
