Bella Palk was the first contestant eliminated from Hulu’s new reality competition series The Mob after Joe Gorga was given the power to decide who would leave.
The series premiered on Monday, bringing 12 celebrities to a villa in Italy to compete in mob movie-inspired challenges for a potential prize of $250,000. Parker Posey hosts the show, while Gorga, known for Real Housewives of New Jersey, took on the role of the Don in the opening episode.
The contestants were divided into teams led by Gorga and Harry Jowsey for the first challenge. Gorga’s team completed the task first, securing him the Don position and allowing him to distribute money to some cast members before choosing one contestant to be “whacked”.
After consulting the other contestants, Gorga decided that Palk was the weakest member of his team and eliminated her from the competition. He also indicated that he wanted to keep stronger players around while attempting to retain his position of authority.
Palk’s absence became clear when the group reconvened, with both she and Jowsey initially missing. Jowsey later entered the room and revealed that Palk had been eliminated.
Gorga’s position as Don is not guaranteed for the remainder of the competition, as the other contestants may later have the opportunity to choose someone else to take charge.
The first two episodes of The Mob are now streaming, with new episodes released weekly.
