Kelly Osbourne has revealed that grief following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, left her barely able to eat and led to dramatic weight loss. She said she has since regained 28lb over six months.
The reality star told The Sun that she was shocked by photographs of herself at the BRIT Awards in February, saying she had not realised how thin she had become.
“I couldn’t f***ing believe it,” Osbourne said.
She said the weight loss was not connected to an eating disorder. Instead, her grief was so overwhelming that eating made her physically sick.
At one point, Osbourne visited her father’s grave with a candle and asked him to help her recover. The following day, her mother, Sharon Osbourne, introduced her to therapist Chris Miller, whom Kelly credits with saving her life.
Osbourne has previously faced criticism over her appearance and has responded to people who commented on her weight.
She is also moving from Los Angeles to the English countryside with her three-year-old son, Sidney, after splitting from her fiancé, Sid Wilson. Osbourne said she wants her son to have a stable childhood without worrying about school shootings and has joined his school’s PTA.
After the difficult period, Osbourne said she is beginning to feel like herself again.
