Kelly Osbourne has revealed that her father, Ozzy Osbourne, told her he loved her unconditionally just three days before his death at home in England.
Speaking on Paul C. Brunson’s podcast, Kelly recalled how the Black Sabbath rocker sat her down and told her she could go through life knowing that someone loved her for exactly who she was.
That person, he said, was him. Kelly recalled Ozzy telling her: “I love you for who you are.”
She said she broke down and asked him not to speak as though he was preparing to leave. Ozzy knew, she explained, that she struggled to believe she was loved, and reassured her that his love for her was unconditional.
Ozzy died three days later, surrounded by his family. He had been dealing with serious health problems, including Parkinson’s disease and complications from a spinal injury.
Despite his condition, he fulfilled his final wish by performing one last show with his Black Sabbath bandmates. Kelly said her mother, Sharon Osbourne, worked tirelessly to make the farewell performance happen.
The concert gave Ozzy the chance to thank his fans and say goodbye on his own terms. Kelly described his final days as extremely painful, but said the performance brought him immense happiness before his death.
