Gypsy Rose Blanchard believes her former fiancé Ken Urker may have died from an apparent overdose after an unidentified substance was found at the Louisiana home where he was discovered dead.
Blanchard said she does not know what the substance was, or whether the suspected overdose was accidental or intentional. Urker’s death remains under investigation.
She also said Urker did not have a drug problem and that she had never seen him take drugs or other substances. Blanchard described him as a responsible person who was committed to being a father and partner.
Urker was found dead on what would have been his 34th birthday. Following his death, Blanchard called him an “amazing father” and said he would “forever be my soulmate and my red string”.
She also said Urker had faced intense public scrutiny and cyberbullying, which she believed had a profound impact on him.
Blanchard and Urker met through a pen pal programme while she was serving a prison sentence for her role in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
Urker proposed during a prison visit in 2018, but the couple later separated. Blanchard subsequently married Ryan Anderson before their relationship ended, and later rekindled her relationship with Urker after her release from prison.
The former couple shared a daughter, Aurora.
