Liverpool have placed Brentford right-back Michael Kayode at the top of their watchlist as they assess options to strengthen their defensive rotation. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also monitoring the Italy international, while Juventus and other Serie A clubs are tracking his progress.
Kayode’s profile has risen after a series of consistent performances for Brentford and his emergence in Italy’s senior squad. He recently completed the full 90 minutes and scored in Italy’s 4-1 Nations League victory over Turkey.
Liverpool lead the interest in Michael Kayode
Sources indicate that Liverpool are currently the most closely interested of the Premier League clubs, although no formal offer has been made and direct negotiations with Brentford have yet to begin.
The situation remains at the monitoring stage ahead of the winter transfer window. Brentford manager Keith Andrews and the club’s hierarchy regard Kayode as an important starter and are not planning to sell him midway through the season.
Brentford strengthened their negotiating position in July by handing the defender a new six-year contract, which runs until June 2032. That agreement means the club can take a firm stance if interest develops into a formal approach.
Brentford could demand up to €65 million
Kayode joined Brentford from Fiorentina in 2025 for €17.5 million, but his market value is now estimated at about €40 million. Brentford are expected to seek between €60 million and €65 million before considering serious discussions.
The right-footed full-back is valued for his pace, strength in defensive duels and willingness to support attacks with overlapping runs. Liverpool and Juventus are expected to continue watching him closely, though a winter departure from Brentford currently appears unlikely.
