Liverpool moved 3-0 ahead against LASK in their Champions League clash, with Ronald Araujo and Bradley Barcola both making an early impact after the defeat by Manchester City at the weekend.
Araujo opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, rising to head in Kostas Tsimikas’ corner for his first goal since joining Liverpool on loan from Barcelona.
Barcola doubled the advantage just two minutes later. The France international reacted instinctively to finish after good work from Rio Ngumoha, registering his first Liverpool goal.
The summer signing from Paris Saint-Germain then struck again before half-time as Liverpool extended their lead to three goals.
Florian Wirtz was involved in the move, linking up with Barcola as the two expensive additions combined in the Liverpool attack.
Wirtz has endured a difficult spell of form recently, but his contribution to Barcola’s second goal provided an encouraging moment for Liverpool.
