A 27-year-old man has been arrested over an alleged sexual assault on a woman in parkland at Homebush, in Western Sydney.
Police allege the 23-year-old woman was walking through Airey Park at about 11.15pm on 18 September when she was approached by an unknown man. He allegedly dragged her into nearby bushland, where she was sexually assaulted and injured.
Officers raided a home in Padstow at about 8.50am on Thursday, arresting the man and seizing several items for forensic examination.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, taking a person with intent to commit a serious indictable offence, and stalking and intimidating a person with intent to cause fear and physical harm.
The man is expected to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Friday.
