A man has been taken to hospital with severe burn injuries after a house fire in north-west Atlanta on Saturday morning.
Atlanta Fire Rescue was called to a property in the 2500 block of Dale Creek Drive NW at about 9.30am following reports that a person and a dog might be trapped inside.
Firefighters arriving at the scene found flames spreading across the rear and right-hand side of the house. They located the injured man during a search and gave him emergency treatment before taking him to Grady Hospital.
Crews extinguished the main blaze and carried out a further search for the reported dog. Fire officials have not said whether the animal was found or injured.
The man’s identity and latest medical condition have not been released. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
