Milwaukee is set for a quiet spell of cool early-autumn weather, with mostly settled conditions expected through the weekend before a stronger storm system brings a greater chance of widespread rain next week.
FOX6 chief meteorologist Rob Haswell said temperatures would remain below average across the area, although conditions should stay largely dry. A few light showers or sprinkles are possible overnight on Thursday and into Friday morning, particularly south and west of Madison.
Thursday will be mostly sunny in Milwaukee before cloud increases later in the day. The high is expected to reach about 68F (20C), with light easterly winds, while temperatures fall to around 58F (14C) overnight.
Friday may begin with a few morning sprinkles before the cloud gradually breaks during the afternoon. The temperature should reach about 70F (21C), according to the forecast.
Cool and settled weekend in Milwaukee
Saturday and Sunday are expected to provide the most settled conditions of the six-day outlook, with partly sunny skies, light winds and long dry periods. Saturday will begin near 48F (9C) before reaching around 70F, while Sunday is forecast to be slightly warmer at about 72F (22C).
Monday should remain mainly quiet and mostly sunny, with a high near 74F (23C). However, isolated showers could develop in south-western Wisconsin.
The weather pattern is expected to change from Tuesday into Wednesday as a stronger system moves north-east from the Plains. Tuesday is likely to start with some sunshine before cloud thickens, with showers becoming increasingly likely later in the day.
The National Weather Service’s Milwaukee forecast also points to a mostly settled weekend, followed by a rising chance of showers from Tuesday night into Wednesday.
