Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr is asking a court to dismiss a civil theft lawsuit brought by his former partner, Holly Means, over belongings she says were left at his home.
Brown denies refusing to return Means’s property and claims that many of the items in dispute were bought by him. His court response says Means used the belongings but that this did not make them hers.
Means alleges that Brown blocked her attempts to collect her possessions after their relationship ended. She is seeking damages and the return of the property.
Brown says Means lived with him for several years and was a stay-at-home mother and former social media influencer. He claims she helped decorate the house, but used his credit card to buy items for it.
The couple’s relationship ended in May 2025, according to Brown’s filing. He says they continued living together afterwards for the sake of their child.
Brown says discussions about the separation became emotional and eventually led to Means leaving the property. His lawyer claims Means called police, while Brown contacted Bengals team security, and that both attended the home to encourage him to let the children leave with their mother and deal with custody separately.
The NFL player accepts that Means may have left some belongings behind, but argues that she did not provide a list identifying the items she claims belong to her.
Brown is now seeking to have the civil theft case thrown out.
