Patrick Clancy is expecting his first child with his wife, Rachel Danis, several years after the deaths of his three children with his first wife, Lindsay Clancy, who has been accused of killing them.
The pregnancy was confirmed after Ross Douthat, who interviewed the couple for 60 Minutes, clarified comments about their plans to start a family.
Appearing on CBS Mornings on Monday, Douthat told presenter Nate Burleson: “They are having a child.”
During the 60 Minutes interview, Patrick discussed the deaths of Cora, Dawson and Callan, and said he was looking forward to telling his future children about their late brothers and sister.
He also described holding Callan in his arms as the boy took his final breaths, telling him he was sorry.
The murder trial involving Lindsay Clancy ended in a mistrial just over two weeks ago after one juror was unable to reach agreement with the rest of the panel.
