Police in Carrollton, Texas, are searching for a Lewisville ISD teacher wanted on warrants alleging indecency with a child by sexual contact and child grooming.
Gloria Reséndiz, 35, has not been arrested, and officers are trying to establish her whereabouts as the investigation continues. The details of the alleged incidents have not been released.
Lewisville ISD teacher placed on leave
Lewisville Independent School District said Reséndiz had been placed on administrative leave and was barred from entering any district property.
The district said it was co-operating with the Carrollton Police Department and had made counselling services available to students and staff.
In a message to families, Lewisville ISD said police had confirmed that arrest warrants had been issued in connection with the ongoing investigation.
The statement said the district was not aware of further details because the case remained an active police inquiry. It urged anyone with potentially relevant information to contact Carrollton police or speak to a trusted adult at school.
Counsellors at Hebron High School, where Reséndiz is understood to have worked, will continue supporting students and staff affected by the investigation.
The allegations have not been tested in court, and Reséndiz has not been taken into custody.
