Three Little Telethon Stars were given a break from their usual hospital appointments and medical check-ups with a day of VIP experiences at Crown Perth, alongside Fremantle Dockers player Mason Cox, Premier Roger Cook and Triple M presenters Xavier Ellis and Katie Lamb.
Aiden, Paige and Olivia each received a specially arranged day built around their interests, with the trio later reuniting over lunch to share their experiences.
Aiden began his visit with Cox, taking on the role of talent manager and guiding the footballer through a series of meetings. The pair quickly struck up a rapport, with Aiden describing the experience as a “dream come true”.
Paige’s turn came in the kitchen, where she joined Mr Cook for a pasta-making session at Modo Mio. The Premier, who adopted the role of Chef Cook for the occasion, initially found himself the target of a flour attack after cheekily aiming some at Paige.
“I had so much fun throwing flower on him because it made me laugh,” Paige said.
Mr Cook was left wiping flour from his face but joined in the laughter. “That was the best one yet,” he said after the cooking session.
“This morning I was Chef Cook, taking over the kitchens here at Crown to really bring to life the Little Telethon Stars and show how we can continue to make Telethon a great success,” he said.
Mr Cook said he had previously taken on a series of roles around the Crown complex for Telethon children, including lifeguard, concierge, bellboy and waiter.
“I thought chef fitted me well. I am Chef Cook, right? So I felt this year was the best one yet,” he said.
He praised Paige as “amazing”, adding: “Paige has got this gorgeous smile, she’s so vibrant, and she was really great to work with.”
Olivia’s day ended with a royal-themed pampering session led by Ellis and Lamb. Wearing a crown, she was treated to hair brushing, nail painting and foot massages by her personal styling team.
By the evening, all three Little Telethon Stars had reached the same verdict on their day at Crown Perth: it was “the best day ever”.
