The full trailer for The Real Rooneys has been released, offering a behind-the-scenes look at Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s family life, careers and four sons ahead of the Disney+ series’ launch.
The 10-part programme follows the couple as they balance work with raising Kai, 16, Klay, 13, Kit, 10, and Cass, eight. Filming takes place at their Cheshire home and during family trips to Barbados, Disneyland Paris and the Alps.
In the trailer, Coleen reflects on the impact of her Wagatha Christie court case, saying it “opened a lot of doors for her career”. She won a High Court defamation battle against fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy after accusing her of leaking personal stories to the press.
Coleen remains largely tight-lipped about the case, but says the fallout, combined with her appearance on I’m A Celebrity in 2024, brought new professional opportunities. These included launching her own range with Primark.
The footage also shows Coleen working on her clothing line and appearing alongside Danny Dyer and Gemma Collins in a Paddy Power Games advert titled Come Out and Play, which launched in October 2025.
Wayne is shown in his new role as a Match Of The Day pundit, while discussing having more time to spend with his children. Asked whether he would like more children, he replies with a laugh: “There was… then I had the snip.”
The couple’s relationship provides some of the programme’s more tense moments. During a holiday, Coleen tells Wayne: “This is supposed to be a family holiday. You can’t keep doing what you’re doing,” before leaving her sunbed.
Wayne responds with a joke about his history of getting into trouble, saying: “The doghouse manual? I’m on me third book.”
The trailer also captures the family’s lively home life, with the four boys causing trouble in and around the house. Coleen is seen shouting at them in the car, while she describes their £20 million property, nicknamed the “Morrisons Mansion”, as “everything I’ve dreamed of” before adding: “The problem is I have to share it with our four boys.”
At another point, she tells a friend: “It’s hard juggling everything, like the house is not happy.”
The family’s eldest son, Kai, is pursuing his own footballing ambitions and is eligible for a professional contract at Manchester United next season after earning his first scholarship. The trailer shows the family supporting him as he takes steps towards a career in the sport.
Klay, meanwhile, offers his own view on his parents’ fame when asked who is more famous. He replies: “My dad. My mum’s only known because of my dad.”
The series’ synopsis promises access to the family’s “highs and lows of married life”, alongside “surprising personal revelations, career-defining moments, lavish celebrations and unforgettable family holidays”.
The Real Rooneys will be available to stream on Disney+ from 24 September.
