Fitness personality Sam Wood has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident in Noosa, with the television star and his wife, Snezana, issuing a joint statement saying they are co-operating with authorities.
Queensland Police were called to Hastings Street, on the Noosa beachfront, at about 9pm on Saturday following reports of domestic violence.
Wood, 46, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting. He had been holidaying in Noosa while normally living in Melbourne.
The television personality spent Sunday night in custody and was due to appear in court on Monday.
On Monday morning, Wood and Snezana shared the same statement on their Instagram stories.
“This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family and thoroughly co-operating with the authorities,” the statement said, signed “from the Wood family”.
The couple have been together for 11 years after meeting on The Bachelor in 2015. Snezana was a single mother to Eve, now 21, when she met Wood on the reality programme.
They had initially planned to marry but postponed the wedding after learning they were expecting their first child together. Their daughter Willow was born in October 2017, before the couple married in an intimate ceremony in Byron Bay in November 2018.
Eve and Willow served as bridesmaids at the wedding. The couple later welcomed two more daughters, Charlie, seven, and Harper, four.
Wood and Snezana have since worked together on health and fitness projects, including Wood’s online training platform, while regularly sharing aspects of family life with their followers.
Wood previously spoke about the pressures of parenting and the couple’s relationship in an interview in 2025.
“Everyone thinks, ‘Oh, you guys have got it all worked out’. We don’t have it worked out,” he said.
“We are a dog’s breakfast. It’s a madhouse, and it’s stressful, and we’re exhausted and we’re probably like everybody else.”
