Arnold Schwarzenegger’s legal team is seeking extra security for an upcoming court hearing, after the lawyer representing a woman suing him published details of the former governor’s planned testimony on social media.
Gary Dordick, who represents Cheryl Augustine, posted an image of himself dressed as Schwarzenegger’s Terminator character. Wearing leather and sunglasses and holding a gun, he wrote “I’ll be back” in reference to the October hearing.
Schwarzenegger’s lawyers have objected to the post because it gives the precise time and location of his appearance at the courthouse.
In court documents, the legal team said the post “tells any one of Instagram’s three billion active users the date, time, street address, department number, and expected duration of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s attendance at trial in a public courthouse.”
They added: “Whatever else may be said about the post, it is an advertisement for the appearance of one of the most recognizable people in the world at a fixed place and time, published five weeks in advance, by a person who has no responsibility for what happens when the audience shows up.”
Augustine is suing Schwarzenegger over a 2022 car crash, alleging that he was driving “wrongfully and recklessly” when the collision occurred.
Dordick said in his post that Augustine “still lives with the permanent effects — ongoing orthopedic and neurological problems, and profound changes to her personality and to her closest relationships.”
