Alex Scott has withdrawn from England duty after suffering a tendon injury during the 7-0 victory over Croatia and could be sidelined for several weeks.
The Bournemouth midfielder is expected to return to his club for further assessment, with additional scans planned to determine the full extent of the problem.
Scott made his first England start in Rijeka and impressed during the emphatic win. He linked up effectively with Elliot Anderson, his former team-mate from England’s 2025 Under-21 European Championship-winning side, and earned praise from head coach Thomas Tuchel.
However, he asked to be substituted in the second half after feeling pain and subsequently underwent a scan. Early indications suggest the injury could keep him out for several weeks.
Bournemouth’s first match after the international break is against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Scott had attracted interest from Manchester City and Chelsea during the summer, but Bournemouth maintained that he was not for sale. The midfielder has two years remaining on his contract.
