A Mean Girls cast update is revisiting the careers of eight original stars more than 22 years after the 2004 comedy became a lasting part of popular culture.
Interest in the film returns each year on October 3, the date associated with the scene in which Aaron Samuels asks Cady Heron what day it is. The occasion has helped keep audiences returning to North Shore High each autumn.
The film’s legacy has since expanded beyond the original production, with a Broadway musical and a 2024 musical film adaptation adding to its reach.
The retrospective includes Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Jonathan Bennett and Lacey Chabert among the cast members whose careers are being revisited.
Since Mean Girls was released, some of the actors have found a new home at Hallmark, others have become awards contenders, and at least one has pursued a career away from Hollywood.
