Police in Cebu City have obtained a warrant to search Thomas Markle’s digital devices as part of an investigation into allegations that child pornography was found at his home in the Philippines.
The items were recently seized after his son, Thomas Markle Jr, allegedly discovered hundreds of images in a box and reported the matter to police.
Mr Markle has denied the allegations, describing them as “sick lies”. He has acknowledged paying for sex in the Philippines but said he never paid for sex with a child.
Thomas Markle Jr has said he reported his father to the authorities and would not speak to him again.
Mr Markle’s daughter, Meghan, cut contact with him after becoming aware of allegations in 2019. In a letter written in 2025, she said he would never have contact with her children.
His other daughter, Samantha, has supported him. Her daughter, Noelle, said she was not surprised by the accusations, while making clear that Mr Markle had never abused her.
