Three young men have been charged with murder after a suspected robbery ended in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Adrian Navarette-Garcia in DeKalb County, Georgia.
Brayan Ibarra, 18, Joel Espinoza-Zaldivar, 18, and Mario Cota, 19, were each charged with murder and four counts of aggravated assault, according to DeKalb County police.
Officers were called to the 3500 block of Meadowglenn Village Lane at about 9.45pm on 8 February after reports of gunfire. Navarette-Garcia was found dead at the scene with gunshot wounds.
As officers searched the surrounding area, they found a second shooting victim on nearby Aztec Road. The person was conscious and alert, but their identity has not been released.
Investigators believe the gunfire may have followed an attempted robbery. Police have not said which of the three suspects allegedly fired the fatal shot.
The arrests came as detectives continued examining the circumstances of the shooting and the link between the two locations. All three men are accused and any charges against them remain allegations unless proved in court.
