Victoria Beckham has offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her Paris Fashion Week show, with children Romeo, Cruz and Harper joining her backstage while eldest son Brooklyn was absent amid an ongoing family rift.
The designer, 52, shared footage from the presentation of her SS27 collection, showing her checking the outfits before models took to the catwalk and praising one of them as “beautiful”.
Wearing a vest top that showed off her arms, Beckham was seen reviewing the plans for each look, including a funnel-neck jacket and shorts.
Harper, 15, said she was particularly looking forward to seeing how her mother’s new House Red lipstick looked on the models. Cruz, 21, joked that he wanted to see what dresses he would be wearing next season, while Romeo, 24, said he was keen to see what his mother had been “cooking up”.
David Beckham, 51, was also on hand when the show ended. He kissed his wife on the cheek and handed her a glass of red wine as she returned from the catwalk and exclaimed: “That’s a wrap!”
Brooklyn absent from Victoria Beckham’s Paris Fashion Week show
Brooklyn Beckham, 27, was once again not present. He and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31, were in Paris during fashion week and attended the Messika show, but Brooklyn did not attend his mother’s presentation.
The couple had also been seen at other events in the French capital, including a Balenciaga show, while Victoria’s relatives attended her own event. Their presence in the same city had prompted speculation that the family might meet.
However, the pair continued to keep their distance from the Beckhams. A source claimed: “It feels like there is some trolling going on. You have to wonder whether Nicola and Brooklyn are enjoying winding it all up. They made sure they were seen everywhere thanks to a certain pap firm.”
The source added: “It doesn’t matter what the distance between the two sides is, there is absolutely no chance of any olive branches or anyone making up any time soon.”
Victoria appeared to acknowledge the support she had received from the rest of her family after the show, writing on Instagram: “To my friends and family, I feel so blessed to have you all by my side xxx.”
David also praised his wife, saying: “We are so proud of you, yet again you show your elegance, passion & beauty in how you want people to feel in your clothes. We feel so lucky to be part of your beautiful night in a place that we love so much. Well done we couldn’t be prouder ❤️ @victoriabeckham.”
Relations between Brooklyn and his parents worsened after he missed celebrations for David’s 50th birthday. Friends have said there is “no end in sight at the moment” to the dispute, which intensified after Brooklyn posted a lengthy message on Instagram containing accusations about his parents.
Despite the family tensions, Victoria appeared upbeat before the show. She was filmed by David exercising on a StairMaster while wearing heels, prompting him to ask: “Darling I know it’s Fashion Week, but don’t you think you’re taking this a bit too far?”
She replied: “No I’m just training.”
Beckham’s fashion business has also had a successful year, with the company reporting a £7.3 million operating profit. Her £104 foundation sold out within days, with accounts stating that 25,000 customers joined a waiting list.
