Arsenal have reportedly joined Barcelona in the race to sign VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, with the German club understood to value the 25-year-old at around €50 million.
Fussball News reports that both clubs are monitoring Stiller, who has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s most highly regarded defensive midfielders. Scouts from leading European sides are also understood to have watched him during Stuttgart’s Champions League campaign.

Arsenal are believed to be considering further midfield reinforcements and regard Stiller as a potential option in the holding role. His composure in possession, range of passing and ability to protect the defence are among the qualities that have attracted interest.
Stiller has established himself as a key figure for Stuttgart since joining from Hoffenheim in 2023. The club extended his contract in January 2025, taking the agreement through to 30 June 2028, after he helped them qualify for the Champions League and earned recognition with Germany. He remains a regular starter for Sebastian Hoeness’s side, featuring in midfield during Stuttgart’s 4-1 victory over Cologne on 4 September 2026. ([vfb.de](https://www.vfb.de/en/vfb/latest/news/professionals/2627/2-vfb-stuttgart—-1–fc-koeln/?utm_source=openai))
Barcelona are also said to be interested in the player, although Arsenal could offer the prospect of a move to the Premier League and a role at one of Europe’s leading clubs. There has been no indication that either side has made a formal offer.
Stuttgart’s reported €50 million valuation could prove decisive. Earlier reports have suggested that the club would seek at least that figure for Stiller, despite the midfielder’s contract running until 2028. Any potential transfer is therefore likely to depend on whether Arsenal or Barcelona are willing to meet Stuttgart’s demands. For now, Stiller’s future remains unresolved, with the midfielder continuing to play a central role in the German club’s plans.
