Police in Queens are searching for a suspect accused of slashing a 13-year-old boy across the face during an argument outside a shopping centre in New York City.
The attack happened at about 6.30pm on Thursday, October 1, near 88-01 Queens Boulevard, according to the New York Police Department.
Investigators said the suspect and the teenager had been involved in a verbal dispute before the boy was cut. The suspect then fled on foot.
The 13-year-old was taken to a local hospital and was reported to be in a stable condition.
Police have not said what sparked the argument or whether the boy and the suspect knew one another. No further details about the suspect have been released.
