A four-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car while crossing the road in Gillingham, Kent, on Friday afternoon.
The collision, involving a black Range Rover, happened on Nelson Road at around 4.12pm. A Kent Police spokesperson said the boy had been reported to be crossing the road prior to the collision. Police and paramedics attended the scene, and the child was taken to a London hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time, according to Kent Online.
The road was closed while officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit carried out initial enquiries. Detectives are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
