Milwaukee is being transformed into a sea of blue and yellow as the city prepares for the Milwaukee Brewers’ National League Division Series campaign, with nearly 20 landmarks displaying the team’s colours.
The Hoan Bridge, Milwaukee City Hall and the Mitchell Park Domes are among the prominent sites taking part in the city-wide show of support ahead of the Brewers’ opening play-off game.
Milwaukee Downtown, which co-ordinates landmark lighting across the city, said participating properties would begin lighting up in the Brewers’ colours from October 3 and continue through the team’s post-season run. Lighting schedules will vary between locations.
The Brewers, who secured the National League’s top seed, will host the San Diego Padres at American Family Field in Game One of the NLDS on Saturday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7.30pm local time.
The display follows the Brewers’ successful regular season and is intended to build anticipation across Milwaukee before the team begins its attempt to advance towards the World Series.
