Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz were absent from Victoria Beckham’s latest fashion show in Paris while attending other events in the city, renewing attention on apparent tensions within the Beckham family.
Brooklyn, 27, and Nicola, 31, arrived in Paris earlier in the week and attended a Balenciaga show at the Tennis Club de Paris. They also enjoyed a date night before being photographed walking together in the city.
Victoria’s show, held at the Conciergerie, was attended by David Beckham, 51, and their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Romeo and Cruz were supported by their girlfriends, Jackie Apostel and Kim Turnbull.
The couple’s decision to remain apart from the family gathering was particularly noticeable because of the importance of Victoria’s seasonal runway show to the Beckham family. Their public appearance elsewhere in Paris provided a sharp contrast to the family photographs from the event.
In photographs from their evening out, Brooklyn is seen placing an arm around Nicola and leaning in to kiss her as they walk. Nicola, dressed in black leather trousers, faces the cameras with a broad smile while Brooklyn appears more focused on showing affection.
Other images show Brooklyn leading his wife through the streets and looking back towards her. In one, Nicola appears more subdued, while another captures the pair laughing together.
The photographs have prompted further scrutiny of the couple’s body language amid claims that relations between Nicola and the wider Beckham family remain strained. The images alone do not establish what either was thinking or feeling.
Victoria appeared with David, Romeo, Cruz and Harper in a family photograph shared after the show. Her message said: “To my friends and family, I feel so blessed to have you all by my side xxx.”
David also praised his wife on social media, writing: “We are so proud of you, yet again you show your elegance, passion & beauty in how you want people to feel in your clothes.”
He added: “We feel so lucky to be part of your beautiful night in a place that we love so much. Well done we couldn’t be prouder.”
The family images made no reference to Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence. Victoria was pictured standing confidently beside David, with Harper and Romeo slightly behind her and Cruz leaning towards his parents.
