Ella Langley has rejected a fan who asked her out during a filmed exchange, responding that there were “Not enough in the world” likes to persuade her to go on a date.
The moment was captured on TikTok after a user called Tiki shouted to the country singer through a fence and asked: “Ella, how many likes to take you on a date?”
Langley’s deadpan response quickly became the focus of the exchange. Tiki then told the camera: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
He was quoting the well-known line associated with Wayne Gretzky, also referenced by Michael Scott in The Office.
Langley later addressed her reply in the comments, explaining that it had been intended as dark humour.
“It was meant to come off as dark humor. You said that and it got quiet and I got nervous,” she wrote.
The fan was unlikely to have been successful in any case, as Langley is reported to be in a relationship with fellow musician Tucker Wetmore.
The pair reportedly met through mutual friends and the music industry and have been together for some time.
