The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Julious George Khalid, who is accused of taking part in an armed kidnapping and extortion on Interstate 20 near Atlanta.
Investigators allege that Khalid and at least two other men posed as law-enforcement officers before stopping a driver at gunpoint on August 7. The victim was allegedly held and forced to hand over a large amount of money before being released.
The group is said to have used an unmarked vehicle fitted with blue lights. The suspects reportedly wore clothing resembling police vests and equipment, and handcuffed the driver before placing them inside the vehicle.
FBI seeks suspect in I-20 kidnapping
A federal judge issued an arrest warrant for Khalid on September 18, charging him with kidnapping. The FBI has listed him as wanted in connection with the case.
Authorities have not identified the other alleged participants or disclosed how much money was taken. They have also not said whether the victim knew Khalid or any of the other suspects.
Khalid, who is 6ft 1in tall and weighs about 180lb, is considered armed and dangerous, according to investigators. He was previously identified in a 2023 interview as the president and founder of The Young Generation Movement, a non-profit focused on youth wellbeing, entrepreneurship and non-violence.
Anyone with information about Khalid’s whereabouts has been urged to call 911 or contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tips can also be submitted through the bureau’s online reporting system.
