Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot is attracting reported interest from Serie A clubs AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus, with the Portugal international potentially facing a decision over his future at Old Trafford.
Dalot has already experienced Italian football, spending the 2020/21 season on loan at AC Milan. His previous spell at the San Siro was viewed positively by the player, who has spoken about the role it played in rebuilding his confidence.
Diogo Dalot’s Serie A options
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both Milan clubs are considering Dalot, while Juventus are also among the sides interested in bringing him back to Italy. A return to AC Milan would represent a reunion with the club where he enjoyed a significant period of his development.
Reflecting on that season, Dalot said: “It was one of the most important years of my career. I remember the way the club welcomed me and how welcome I felt during an important year for me, when I needed to regain confidence in my football. Milan helped me get back to those levels.”
The 27-year-old has not always produced consistently convincing performances for Manchester United, and a move could offer all parties the possibility of a fresh start. The club may also consider whether an upgrade at right-back is needed.
Dalot’s current Manchester United contract runs until 2028. That leaves the club weighing whether to retain him or take advantage of interest from Italy in January or next summer, given the possibility of losing him for nothing in the final period of his deal.
