Joshua Jackson reunited with his Dawson’s Creek co-star Mary-Margaret Humes at the Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala benefiting F Cancer in Santa Monica on Saturday.
The pair attended the event at Barker Hangar, where they were joined by Dawson’s Creek creator Kevin Williamson, production consultant Julie Plec and executive producer Greg Berlanti.
Jackson, 48, and Humes, 72, starred together in the long-running drama series. Their reunion came at a gala chaired by Berlanti and his husband, Robbie Rogers, who also attended with their two children.
The event honours Berlanti’s late mother, Barbara, who died in 2017 from complications arising from lung cancer. It supports F Cancer’s work in early detection, prevention and psychosocial initiatives.
In a previous statement, Berlanti said: “My mother, Barbara Berlanti, dedicated her life to giving back to others. Lung cancer took her life too soon, but I know this work being done in her memory would give her immeasurable peace and happiness. May this program give others the greatest gift of all – more life and time with the people they love.”
This year’s honourees were Katherina LaNasa, Williamson and Jason Collins. LaNasa attended with her husband, Grant Show.
Humes has previously spoken about her own experience with cancer. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2007 and revealed the diagnosis last year, following a private battle that had lasted for many years.
She discussed her illness after James Van Der Beek, her Dawson’s Creek son, was diagnosed with cancer. Humes had also been due to take part in a Dawson’s Creek reunion supporting Van Der Beek and F Cancer last September, before his death earlier this year.
Other guests at the Heroes Gala included The Pitt creator R Scott Gemmill and cast members Noah Wyle, Shawn Hatosy, Gerran Howell and Fiona Dourif.
Octavia Spencer, Yvonne Orji, Jim Rash, Matthew Lillard, David Ramsey, Danielle Panabaker, Lisa Ann Walter, Joely Fisher, Bre-Z, Julia Schlaepfer and Chloe East were also among those attending.
