Kourtney Kardashian has responded to Jennifer Lawrence’s criticism by joking that the Oscar-winning actress can expect the “sister treatment” when they next meet.
Lawrence, 36, made the remarks about Kardashian, 47, during a Vanity Fair lie-detector test last November. Discussing Kardashian’s behaviour on the seventh season of The Kardashians, she said: “Everything has to be an announcement.”
Lawrence cited Kardashian’s comments about no longer wearing outfits and not having a television in her room, adding: “Just wear whatever you want. Don’t make an announcement about it. Or, ‘I don’t have a TV in my room.’ Just don’t watch TV. Stop announcing it.”
During the eighth season of the reality series, Kardashian revealed that Lawrence had since emailed her about the comments.
“She’s like, ‘I just feel like I’m one of your sisters,’” Kardashian told her friend Simon Huck. She added that, after rewatching the interview, she thought: “Oh, it’s not that bad actually.”
Kardashian then referred jokingly to her explosive argument with Kim Kardashian, which was shown on the programme in 2020.
“I said to my mom, ‘OK, she thinks she’s one of my sisters, I’ll f–king slap the s*** out of her,’” she told Huck.
“I was like, ‘Invite her over, and we can—I’ll go for it like she’s my sister,’” she added.
Although Kardashian said she was able to laugh off the criticism, she admitted that Lawrence’s email had arrived during a difficult period.
“It was also a sensitive week when she sent it,” Kardashian said. “I felt like our show was airing and everybody was ganging up on me.”
She described Lawrence’s email as “so nice” and said she had not yet replied, while joking that she would tell the actress: “Next time you wanna come over, we can go at it, Kourtney and Kim style.”
Lawrence has been close to the Kardashian-Jenner family for years, and Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, attended the actress’s 2019 wedding to Cooke Maroney.
