Liverpool are monitoring Brentford winger Kevin Schade after his strong start to the Premier League season heightened interest in the 24-year-old.
Schade has scored three goals in five league appearances for Keith Andrews’ side, who sit fourth after an unbeaten opening to the campaign. His form has also earned him a nomination for the Premier League’s September Player of the Month award.

Liverpool scouts have watched Schade in recent matches and the club could consider a move in January as they assess their options in wide areas.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown believes the German’s attributes make him a strong fit for Liverpool’s requirements.
“Schade is a very good player and he’s showing that for Brentford at the moment,” Brown said. “He’s a goalscorer, and they’re not always easy to find at the moment, especially if you’re looking for somebody who is suited to the Premier League and this level of football.”
He added: “He’s very direct, physical, quick, very good on the ball, and like I say, he’s got an eye for goal, so that ticks a number of boxes as the type of player Liverpool are looking for.
“Liverpool want to strengthen out wide, so if he continues to play at a high level, there is no reason why they couldn’t make a move for him.”
Schade’s early-season figures include nine shots, six on target and 15 aerial duels won from 27, alongside his three goals.
His direct running, physicality and ability to attack space have added to his appeal, particularly as Liverpool contend with fitness concerns involving Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo. Isak has returned early from Sweden duty with a minor thigh injury, while Gakpo has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad with an ankle problem.

Liverpool are not the only club interested in the Brentford attacker, with Arsenal also regarded as one of his keenest admirers.
Brentford have opened talks over a new long-term contract for Schade, whose current deal runs until 2028. That leaves the club in a strong position should his form continue and a January approach materialise.
Any move is therefore unlikely to be straightforward, with competition for his signature and Brentford seeking to protect the value of one of their most prominent performers this season.
