A CLEANER arriving for work at a shopping centre made a grim discovery when she found the body of a man inside, an inquest heard.
Mark Scullion, 37, was found dead in the Britten Centre in Lowestoft.
An inquest heard Mark was homeless and had been using the shopping centre as a place to sleep for around four or five months before his death.
After the cleaner raised the alarm, emergency services rushed to the scene and a member of the public attempted CPR.
But despite efforts to save him on June 29 last year, Mark could not be revived.
Suffolk Coroners’ Court heard that the 37-year-old had a history of drug and alcohol dependency.
He had been taken to hospital following a drug overdose just weeks earlier.
Cops examined CCTV footage from the shopping centre following the discovery.
However, officers found nothing suspicious and no evidence that anyone else had been involved in his death.
Concluding the inquest on Friday, Coroner Olivia Rose ruled that Mark died as a result of drugs.
The court heard there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
