Milwaukee is facing another unsettled spell of wet and windy weather before conditions turn cooler on Friday and brighter over the weekend, according to FOX6 chief meteorologist Rob Haswell.
Showers are expected during Wednesday morning, with cloudy skies and strong south-westerly winds continuing through the day. Temperatures could reach 66F (19C) before falling during the afternoon as a cold front moves through.
There may be a brief respite later on Wednesday, but further showers are forecast for Thursday. The National Weather Service said light rain would remain possible across southern Wisconsin, while forecasters warned that an isolated rumble of thunder could not be ruled out.
However, the system is not expected to bring a major thunderstorm event. Conditions are more likely to be grey, breezy and occasionally wet, with Thursday’s high forecast at around 54F (12C).
Friday will bring a sharper change, with mostly cloudy skies, northerly winds and a high of only 48F (9C). A slight chance of showers remains, while temperatures could fall to around 30F (-1C) inland overnight.
Milwaukee weather forecast for the weekend
Conditions are expected to improve on Saturday, when mostly sunny skies and a high of 52F (11C) are forecast. Sunday should be brighter still, with temperatures rising to about 56F (13C).
The milder pattern is forecast to continue into Monday. Mostly sunny conditions and south-westerly winds could push temperatures back towards 60F (16C), offering a brief return to early autumn conditions after the colder spell.
