Tuvalu’s climate minister has expressed satisfaction with attendance at the pre-COP meeting while warning about Australia’s approval of new fossil fuel projects.
The minister said he was “very happy” with the level of attendance at the gathering, but described Australia’s decision to green-light further fossil fuel developments as alarming.
The comments highlight a divide between the Pacific nation’s support for international climate discussions and its concerns about Australia’s fossil fuel projects.
