Premier League interest in Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae is growing, with Aston Villa and Tottenham among the clubs understood to have assessed the South Korea international.
Kim’s future in Germany remains uncertain, although he could still agree a new contract and continue with Bayern. German transfer insider Christian Falk said the centre-back could attract attention from several clubs in the next transfer window.
Kim Min-jae interest includes Aston Villa and Tottenham
Falk said Aston Villa, Tottenham and AC Milan had all made contact over Kim during the summer, but none of the clubs followed up with an offer.
“This is why other clubs have Kim in their focus. Aston Villa is interested, and I heard both Tottenham and AC Milan are also looking at the South Korean international,” Falk said.
He added: “So, nothing concrete at the moment. I wouldn’t expect a January move or anything. Everything will depend on what Bayern Munich will tell Kim in contract talks this year.”
A move to the Premier League therefore remains possible, but Kim’s immediate future is likely to depend on the outcome of discussions with Bayern.
Tottenham strengthened their defensive options during the summer, potentially making them the less likely destination of the interested clubs. Aston Villa could be a more plausible option, while AC Milan would offer Kim a return to Italy after his breakthrough at the highest level with Napoli.
