Custom Rolexes bearing a presidential seal have reportedly become a status symbol among a small group of Donald Trump administration insiders at the White House.
The watches, described as the “White House Rolex”, were reportedly purchased and modified by a bespoke operation in London, according to Vanity Fair. Buyers could choose between a gold Day-Date Presidential and a GMT model with Rolex’s red-and-blue “Pepsi” bezel.
Both versions have blue dials, a gold presidential seal and stars marking 45 and 47 seconds, referring to Mr Trump’s two presidencies. The words “White House” are engraved on the back.
Those said to own one include Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, chief of staff Susie Wiles and White House counsel Will Scharf. Vance aides Nick Luna and Cliff Sims, campaign strategist Chris LaCivita and Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio are also reportedly among the owners.
The White House declined to comment to Vanity Fair.
The reported interest in expensive watches extends beyond the custom pieces. Mr Witkoff is said to wear several watches worth six figures, while Ms Wiles has a diamond-covered Rolex.
Communications director Steven Cheung reportedly wears a black-and-white Rolex Daytona known as the “Panda”.
