Ryan Reynolds called wife Blake Lively ‘courageous’ in a gushing post in honor of her 39th birthday on Wednesday just hours after her humiliating Justin Baldoni settlement payout was revealed.
The Canadian actor, who has been married to Lively for almost 14 years, shared a carousel of photos taken over the course of their relationship to Instagram.
‘August 25th is this family’s Super Bowl™️,’ Reynolds wrote in the caption. ‘Happy Birthday to the very best human I know.’
Snaps posted to the social media platform include plenty of memories from their relationship, including a sweet photo of what appears to be Lively enjoying Disneyland.
Elsewhere, the pair can be seen playing with some of their kids. The power couple share daughters James, 11, Inez, nine, Betty, six, and son Olin, three.
‘You’re not just another courageous and deeply kind genius. You’re also unreasonably cute,’ Reynolds added.

One picture shows the spouses enjoying a laugh while a relaxed Lively displays damp hair.
‘I know how lucky I am that you were born. Every time I’ve ever hit my head, it’s YOUR life that flashes before my eyes,’ Reynolds’s gushing post concluded.
The tribute to Lively garnered responses from their celebrity pals including Hugh Jackman, who commented: ‘Happy Birthday Blake!!!’
Meanwhile Reynold’s WrexhaM AFC co-owner Rob Mac applauded his business partner’s post for his wife.
Blake and Ryan first met in 2010 on the set of their film Green Lantern.
They started dating the following year, in October 2011.

Lively’s birthday comes shortly after it was revealed that she will receive $400,000 in legal fees from Justin Baldoni in their bitter court battle – after demanding an eye-watering $8 million following their bombshell settlement.
In a final humiliation for the actress on Wednesday, a judge in New York ruled that she will be awarded just five percent of the amount she sought to recoup for defending herself against Baldoni’s $400 million defamation lawsuit, the Daily Mail can reveal.
The judge said that the number of hours that Lively had billed for her lawyers were ‘unreasonable’ and criticized the ‘discrepancies’ in the expenses she was trying to claim.
The court ruling comes months after the same judge threw out most of the claims in Lively’s sexual harassment case against her It Ends With Us co-star and they agreed to settle the case with no money changing hands.
Judge Lewis Liman had previously dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million defamation countersuit against Lively, but he did allow her to seek legal fees solely related to defending that action.
In an order obtained by the Daily Mail, Judge Lewis Liman ruled: ‘The clerk of court is respectfully directed to enter judgment for Lively in the amount of $363,245.40 in attorneys’ fees and $44,206.35 in costs’.

Lively sued Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment on the set of the movie, and defamation.
Baldoni responded the following month with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and the New York Times, which was first to publish her claims.
In October 2025, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s case and in May this year, after a judge dismissed most of Lively’s claims, she agreed to settle her claim.
But the legal battle didn’t end there.
Weeks later, Lively filed court documents seeking to recoup her legal expenses from the drawn-out lawsuit.
Last month, Lively revealed in court filings just how much she was demanding: $4,544,094 from Wilkie, Farr & Gallagher and $2,951,432 from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, two high-profile law firms.
However, the final bill will be $300,000 higher because of costs related to a recent hearing on June 1, bringing it to $8.3 million.
