Former Bachelor star and fitness influencer Sam Wood is due to apply for bail at Maroochydore Magistrates Court after spending five nights in a holding cell over alleged domestic violence offences.
The 46-year-old is facing charges of assault occasioning bodily harm in a domestic violence context and strangulation in a domestic setting, following an alleged incident at a Noosa hotel on Saturday night.
Wood is expected to appear before the Queensland court by video link on Thursday afternoon. His lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly, and his father, barrister Andrew Wood, were seen arriving at the courthouse shortly after 1pm local time.
Mr Cuskelly was approached by journalists gathered outside the court and asked how confident he was that his client would be granted bail.
“We’ll see what happens,” he said.
Wood’s wife, Snezana, was not present for the hearing.
