The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is available for $300 less at Best Buy, bringing the price of the 256GB model down to $1,799.99. The reduction is the strongest deal reported since Samsung launched the foldable phone last month.
The discount addresses one of the main criticisms of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: its high starting price. The handset has been praised for its slimmed-down design, rear triple-camera system and battery performance.
Samsung has introduced several upgrades over the previous Galaxy Z Fold 7. The new model has brighter inner and outer displays, sharper cameras and faster charging, while a redesigned hinge is intended to improve durability.
However, the hinge did not withstand all of the tests carried out by YouTuber JerryRigEverything. The phone also has an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance, which is below that of rival foldables including Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
A larger 5,000mAh battery, up from 4,400mAh on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is designed to provide a full day’s use from a single charge. The Best Buy promotion applies to the 256GB version and offers a lower entry point for buyers considering Samsung’s latest premium foldable.
