Kaya Scodelario has revealed that she messaged Maya Jama to warn her to “be on her toes” before the presenter began filming her acting debut in Netflix’s The Gentlemen.
Jama joins the second series of Guy Ritchie’s crime drama, with Scodelario returning as criminal organiser Susie Glass. The new season marks Jama’s first major scripted acting role.
Scodelario, who has been part of the series since its launch, offered support while making clear that Jama should expect an intense experience on set.
Netflix has confirmed that the returning cast includes Theo James, Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones, alongside newcomers including Jama, Hugh Bonneville and Chris Eubank Jr.
The second series follows Eddie Horniman, played by James, and Susie as they attempt to expand the family’s criminal empire overseas, while facing growing pressure from new rivals.
