Two people have been arrested after a high-speed pursuit in Georgia during which deputies say firearms and suspected drugs were thrown from a moving SUV.
The chase began on Interstate 85 in Franklin County on Thursday, October 1, after the driver of a gold Chevrolet Tahoe allegedly refused to stop for a traffic violation, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies pursued the vehicle before bringing it to a halt on Baty Road using a Precision Immobilisation Technique, or PIT manoeuvre. Colin Bryant, who was driving, and passenger Carley Austin were arrested at the scene.

Investigators said items were discarded from the Tahoe as it travelled along the interstate. Officers later recovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and THC products, along with firearms, ammunition, digital scales and a large number of small bags.
Bryant faces charges including fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, possession with intent to distribute, firearm-related offences, tampering with evidence, driving under the influence and reckless driving. He is also accused of multiple traffic violations.
Austin has been charged with possession with intent to distribute and tampering with evidence.
Video released by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office shows the pursuit and the moment the SUV was stopped on Baty Road. The footage also captures Bryant surrendering to deputies after the vehicle was disabled.
Authorities have not said how fast the Tahoe was travelling or disclosed the precise location on Interstate 85 where the initial stop was attempted.
Bond details and court dates for Bryant and Austin had not been released.
